Background

Since education and training were incorporated into the FIM’s objectives in 2021, the organisation has focused on expanding its talent pool. Among these, Seminar Instructors play an increasingly crucial role in ensuring the best preparation of Stewards, thereby supporting the effective organisation of events.

In 2022, the FIM launched the FIM Instructor Certificate, a learning path consisting of two modules and one inter-module online workshop. This programme equips subject matter experts with the skills and core competencies needed to provide an optimal learning experience for participants.

Each year, around fifteen instructors are invited to attend “Training for the Instructors – Module 1,” which marks the first step in this journey. The following year, an inter-module webinar is held to encourage knowledge-sharing within the instructor pool. In the third year, “Training for the Instructors – Module 2” completes the learning path.

The entire pool of instructors is expected to complete this program by 2027, at which point the FIM Instructor Certificate will become a mandatory requirement for teaching in FIM Seminars. The certificate will be valid for four years, and to maintain certification, instructors must attend a minimum of two continuing education courses or workshops proposed by the FIM every four years.
