Background
The Women’s Speedway Academy (WSA) was launched in 2022 to develop the skills of female Speedway riders and provide them with an international platform to showcase their talent. The initiative began in Germany and expanded to the UK the following year, where participation tripled. In 2022, the first Women’s Gold Trophy was held in Teterow, marking the first-ever international competition for women in Speedway. This milestone has encouraged greater investment from national federations in grassroots development and structured pathways, contributing to a steady rise in female participation across the sport.
