Using the occasion of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia hosted at the Mandalika International Circuit this weekend, the FIM and IFM President Jorge Viegas accompanied by IKATAN Motor Indonesia (IMI) Vice President Eddy Saputra and FIM Environmental Steward Abimanju Lestarijono visited a local school to confirm their support to improve their facilities.
This visit also forms the path for a future KISS Mandalika project, which will be delivered within the now well-established FIM Ride Green framework. This is a shared and ongoing initiative between the IMI, FIM Asia Environmental Commission headed by Director Sultan Zaher Al Muraikhi and the International Foundation for Motorcycling (IFM).
FIM and IFM President Jorge Viegas explained: “It has been a pleasure to share time today with the IMI family, plus the students and the teachers at the school in Mandalika. As the president of the International Foundation for Motorcycling, I believe we have taken a positive step and we are really excited to start the project to reconstruct the sanitary facilities of the school. This is thanks to our private donors who love motorcycling and support the foundation.”
FIM sustainability Director Kattia Juárez added: “Also sustainability is people, and the impact we leave after our events must be neutral or even better, positive. This partnership is important, and I am delighted to work on this project with the National Federation, the FIM Asia Environmental Panel, and our Environmental Steward. We hope soon; we can organise a KISS Programme in Mandalika and continue social and environmental actions that support the sustainability strategy of our promotor and the FIM which are in line with the objectives of the IFM.”
