Background

Women’s Speedway academy first started as a collaboration between the FIM Track Racing Commission and the FIM Commission for Women in Motorcycling. To start to increase the participation of female riders in Speedway.

The first one was held at Diedenbergen, Germany. Six athletes took part, who where: Teegan Pedler AUS, Katie Gordon GBR, Celina Liebmann GER, Nynke Sijbesma NED , Kim Kempa GER and Patricia Earhart GER.

Action Plan

360 degree approach to learning Speedway. From the classroom to the track. We are providing world-class tutoring from the top level of the sport. Training on: Mechanics, athlete nutrition, diet, track tutorials, media, race craft, safety and sponsorship recruitment.

Objectives

  • Grow the number of Women participating in Speedway.
  • Educate the athletes on all areas of Speedway.
  • Generate publicity for the club and the sport.
  • Collaborate with local charities to engage the local community.
  • Get new volunteers to join the sport.

Anticipated outcome

  • An increase in competitive Women.
  • More women are participating in all areas of the sport.
  • National Championships start including more women.
  • Women Speedway World Cup by 2023
  • More Women apply for a race licenses.
