Background
The FIM Future Leaders Programme is a transformative initiative aimed at equipping high-potential employees from National Federations with the leadership skills needed to drive the future of motorcycling.
This initiative is part of the FIM’s long-term vision to support the growth of National Federations and to ensure a robust leadership succession plan. Applications closed at the end of December 2024, with selected participants set to embark on their leadership journey in early 2025.

Action Plan
The programme, as commenced in January 2025, is designed in collaboration with the world-renowned International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), bringing together academic excellence and practical sports management expertise.
CIES, with its long-standing history of excellence in academic research and sports management education, continues to play a key role in designing the programme. Participants will benefit from a multidisciplinary curriculum covering topics such as leadership, strategy, environmental sustainability, and effective communication.
The eight-month programme will include interactive webinars with industry experts, coaching sessions for leadership development, a Capstone Project addressing real-world challenges in motorcycling and a two-day workshop at the FIM Headquarters in Mies, Switzerland.
Objectives
The FIM Future Leaders Programme has a clear goal: to build a strong pipeline of capable and diverse leaders who can guide National Federations through future challenges. The programme will be particularly focused on fostering gender equality and empowering women in leadership roles within motorcycling organisations, this will be spearheaded by the FIM Women’s Commission.
Anticipated outcome
Through this project, the FIM Academy aims to support the development of FMNs (National Federations) and CONUs (Continental Unions), beginning with their future leaders.
