Background

European Union citizens will go to the polls in June to elect new MEPs. It is expected that around two-thirds of MEPs will be changed leading to a new political settlement. This will also affect the appointment of European Commissioners later in the year, so this has huge political resonance. In the current European Parliament (2019-2024), we have had few MEPs who we can identify as strongly supportive of motorcycling and the election will be a good opportunity to find a new sector champion.
